An honest guide

We're building a haunt of our own this year, so we've been to a lot of them. Here's the metro's lineup, what each one is good for, and where the adults-only options are. Dates and prices are from each haunt's site in late September, so confirm before you go.

1. Screen to Scream: Fun House 2026

Where: Chandler (venue announced Oct 2) · When: Sat Oct 24 only · Price: $30 early bird, $40 presale, $50+ door · Ages: 21+ only

The only one on this list that pairs a horror movie with a walkthrough haunt and a DJ afterparty. One night, adults only, live-actor clown haunt, bar open until 2 AM. First year, so it's small and personal. That's us. Tickets

2. 13th Floor Haunted House

Where: 2710 W Bell Rd, Phoenix · When: Sept 19 to Nov 1, select nights · Price: About $23 to $90 depending on date and tier · Ages: All ages (21+ bar on site)

The big corporate haunt in north Phoenix. Two attractions, long lines on weekends, date-based pricing and several fast-pass tiers. Polished, loud and crowded. Good if you want production value and don't mind waiting. Site

3. Fear Farm

Where: 1475 N McClintock Dr, Tempe (new location for 2026) · When: Sept 19 to Nov 14, select nights · Price: About $25 to $40 GA, more for fast pass · Ages: All ages (two 21+ secret bars)

Same owners as 13th Floor, outdoor haunt park with several attractions including a clown funhouse. Moved to Tempe this year. Big crowds, teen-heavy on weekends. Site

4. Apocalypse Rawhide

Where: Rawhide Western Town, 5700 W North Loop Rd, Chandler · When: Late October, check their site · Price: About $39 GA, $59 VIP last year · Ages: Teens and adults

A zombie-themed walkthrough in the old western town in Chandler. Shorter run than the big two. Check the current dates before you go. Site

5. Sanctum of Horror

Where: Mesa · When: October weekends, check their site · Price: About $25 to $35 · Ages: Teens and adults

Independent indoor haunt in Mesa that regulars recommend for actors who commit. Smaller and more intense than the corporate haunts. Site

6. Mount Mayhem

Where: 1740 E Purdue Ave, Phoenix · When: Oct 16 to 18 and Oct 29 to 31 · Price: Free or donation · Ages: All ages

An award-winning home haunt with a carnival sideshow theme. Built by enthusiasts in their yard, and better than it has any right to be. Bring cash for the donation box. Site

7. 42nd Haunt

Where: Glendale · When: October weekends, check their site · Price: Free or donation · Ages: All ages

A 16-room home haunt walkthrough with live actors in the West Valley. One of the best home haunts in the metro. Site
